The HPC-40 is a series of non-contact range of capacitive sensors because of the simplicity of installation to measure an earth grounded target. Their protective external case provides the guard and sensor elements to avoid shorting out of the electronics because of the earth grounding the sensor tip. A set screw or split clamp packaging usually hold the assembly in place for simple adjustments.

They are available in a broad range of working temperature for accurate displacement from Cryogenic to 1000 °C.

When it comes to their calibration, the sensor must be calibrated with final length of cable for stated results.
