Format Messtechnik presents SONIC JOKER. It is an ultrasonic measurement unit with high resolution. It has been developed for accurately measuring distance in quality control for uninterrupted production. It provides highly accurate detections of nearly all solid or liquid objects, regardless of their color and surface structure. Its gain settings can be controlled by a software. This feature, combined with the high intensity of ultrasonic pulses, allows measurement of materials with high sound absorption. Examples include textiles, foams and insulation mats.

Typically SONIC JOKER is used during production to measure the thickness of foam, canvas, plastic, rubber and stone products. It also provides highly accurate measurement of fill levels of pastes, liquids and granulates. The device is equipped with a PC software named SONIC TOOLS. The software runs on Windows and controls all measurement parameters. It also has special features for relative measurement. SONIC JOKER provides special I/O functions, which help in process control. For data transfer, it has 1 serial output and 2 analog outputs.
