IFM Capacitative Touch Sensors have a dynamic, stable, latching function that is either programmable or preset. This can be activated by lightly touching the sensor to switch it on and off. The sensors can be easily installed into housing with a 22.5 mm diameter bore using M22 x 1.5 thread. They are wear-free, with a temperature range from -40 to 85 °C, oil and impact resistance, and an IP69K protection rating.

IFM Capacitative Touch Sensors come in both dynamic and static versions. Dynamic touch sensors work by detecting an approaching human hand. They also restrain interference from water, ice, foreign bodies, and the like. Static touch sensors, on the other hand, detect hand and objects through glass, so long as the sensing face is covered. The symbols on the sensing face are provided separately.
