Mitutoyo Japan's Absolute Separate Linear Scale (ST36 Series model) provides both immense accuracy and resolution when dealing with detection head. It features a guaranteed effective range from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of up to 3,000 millimeters, and presents multiple high-quality outputs. It also comes with an integral (and compressed) user interface box.

Other technical specifications of the ST36 Series model of absolute separate linear scale include its output signal, which consists of two of each of a 90-degree phase-shifted quadrature signal, as well as a 90-degree phase-shifted sinusoidal signal. Its accuracy (provided that the temperature is at 68°F) varies: 10 - 300mm ±0.5μm; 350 - 500mm ±1μm; 600 - 1000mm ±2μm; 1100 - 3000mm ±2μm/m. Its resolution ranges from 0.01μm, 0.02, 0.05, to 0.1μm.
