The TACHYON 6400 FPA is characterized by its readout speed, with a maximum of 2,000 frames per second. It has an on-chip A/D readout electronics and an on-chip dark current cancellation.

The unit features a digital interface for FPA control and data acquisition or transmission. The snapshot is its readout method. It has an integration time that is programmable. The power supply of the product is 3.3 V, while its detector biasing voltage is -5 V.
