RESYS M40R are earth leakage relays that are often associated with a remote trip breaking device, offering automatic power breaking and reclosing. In terms of the functionality, the leakage current limitations and protection against indirect contact are worth mentioning, but the reclosing of trip breaking device is also important.

The relay recloses the system up to six times, at different time intervals. The relay is locked in alarm mode if the fault is still present after six reclosing attempts, requiring manual intervention. The rapid recognition of an insulation fault also increases the availability of the distribution network, preventing accidental power cuts and loss of production that results from this.

Finally, repeated random tripping will be reduced by the TRMS measurements, while the bar graph will allow the display of permanent leakage current.
