These gas discharge tubes (GDT) from TE connectivity are specially designed for protecting sensitive telecom devices. Examples of possible applications include communication lines, power lines, signal lines and data transferring lines. The GDT safeguards these devices from damage created by fluctuating surge voltages, usually caused by lightning strikes and switching operations.
