The ROTAMAT is a screw thickener designed for large wastewater treatment plants. It is an efficient and flexible unit that can be used for applications with sludge flock and high solids loads. The thickener features an inclined basket at the wedge section, as well as a screw that slowly rotates with variable speed. The screw gently conveys the sludge upward through the basket, as water drains down.

The amount of thickening is adjustable by means of a weir plate located in the sludge discharge. The plate is height adjustable and the screw speed is variable. An automatic washing system allows for the wedge wire to be cleaned during the screw process.
