SSI's 4500 Series of pre-load compactors are the optimum solution for high volume transfer station facilities requiring more than 300 tons per day of throughput. SSI's Pre-Load 4500 Series stationary compactors feature three single stage cylinders designed to form one high density square ended bale. It is the optimum solution for high volume facilities needing to transfer municipal solid waste, recyclables, or other commodities into highway and intermodal trailers or containers.

The model 4500 weighs approximately 80 metric tons. The proprietary SSI hydraulic system is powered by a 150 kW variable speed electric motor equipped reduced voltage starter. It makes 25-30 ton bales from mixed MSW at cycle rate of 15 minutes, or 4 bales/hr – about 100 tons/hr when factoring in bale ejection times.

The SSI model 4500 compactor is SSI’s largest unit, and each comes with installation support, facility integration support and long term factory direct technical and parts support.

4500 SPH
The “SPH” is SSI’s heavy-duty model 4500 and it weighs approximately 87 metric tons. The proprietary SSI hydraulic system is powered by a 187 kW variable speed electric motor equipped reduced voltage starter.

The “SPH” version makes 30% more compaction force than the standard 4500 model does, which allows heavier bales and compaction of heavy materials. It makes 30-35 ton bales from mixed MSW at cycle rate of 18 minutes, or 3.3 bales per hour – about 120 tons per hour when factoring in bale ejection times.
