The F 550 S series is intended for products with low to high viscosity that are pasty but still free flowing.

The F 550 S is designed with an eccentric worm-drive pump with bearing flange made of aluminium, and can operate both vertically and horizontally. The pump's low pump speed reduces wear for longer life. The pump comes complete with a mechanical seal or stuffing box. The outer diameter of the pump tube is 50 or 54 mm.

The F 550S features type F 550 SX.-50/21 for use in Zone 0, and has been certified in accordance with ATEX-Directive 94/9/EC, EC-Type-Examination Certificate No. PTB 99 ATEX 4050/4051 X.
