RIX Oil-Free 4V4BG-11A-P3 Oxygen Compressors have been developed specifically for the exacting requirements of safe, reliable oxygen compression service. Applications include cylinder filling and other gas pressure boosting processes. The 4V4BG-11A-P3 Series incorporates design features developed over several decades for a variety of industrial and military oxygen compressor applications. These compressors are well suited for the compression of oxygen to 3000 psig, and other clean, dry gases to 5000 psig. The 4V4BG-11A-P3 high pressure oxygen compressor will fill up to one hundred (100) 240 cu. ft. 3000 psi oxygen cylinders in a 24 hour period.

4V4BG-11A-P3 four-stage compressors utilize four oil-free single-acting cylinders on a "V" type crosshead design crankcase. Heat exchangers, crankcase and compression cylinders are water cooled. The crankcase is pressure/splash-lubricated with oxygen compatible oil. The 3rd and 4th stage pistons are free-floating, allowing for piston and ring change-out without cylinder or piston rod removal. All heads are air cooled and can be removed without disconnecting the cooling water piping. Replacement of a floating piston assembly typically requires only about 30 minutes. The proven ring life of the 4th stage, compressing oxygen at 2500 psig, is more than 3000 hours. Service life of the other stages is considerably longer.
