Bran Duster for optimizing the flour yield
What is this device for?
The Brabender Bran Duster is used in combination with the Brabender Quadrumat Senior and Quadrumat Junior laboratory mills for increasing yield and for adjusting the flour obtained to the desired ash content.
Warum ist das wichtig?
If the ash content and yield of your grain sample do not meet the required specification, the bran duster carefully separates flour particles still adhering to the bran. Increase the yield obtained on your Quadrumat® Senior by some 10% and approach even better the ash content of your samples to that of commercial flours.
How does this device work?
The sample material is filled through the feed hopper onto the feed screw which conveys the material to the four rotating whirl battens.
The bran particles repeatedly hit onto the whirl battens so that any flour particles adhering to the bran are separated carefully from the bran and sifted through the round sieve whereas the bran remains almost uncrushed.
The siftings (flour) are collected in the flour collector under the round sieve. The residues are conveyed through the round sieve to the bran collector.
Was sind die Vorteile?
- Practice relevance: Flours can be tested on laboratory scale with respect to quality as they would also occure in mills.
- Flexibility: Different mesh size dimensions available (Standard: 200 µm)
- Accuracy: Precise adjustment of ash content
- Smooth separation
- Maintenance-free design
