The Plane Grating Monochromator/Spectrograph (PGM-PGS) series is an ideal optical design coupling, a toroïdal mirror, and an aberration corrected rotating plane grating. Every grating has been particularly manufactured with a suitable coupling with its integrated toroïdal mirror.

As to a Rowland-Circle configuration, this solution has two major advantages. The first is its possible use in multi-channel mode, real flat field, and in single channel, with an exit slit. The second is that its optical design is straight; entrance and exit arms are parallel; and the exit, whether detector or slit, is permanent, making incorporation and calibration simple.
