The Fluorolog Extreme is manufactured by Horiba, and is a supercontinuum white light laser-powered lifetime steady-state fluorometer which fuses the capacity of a fluorometer together with the peak intensity and wide wavelength range of supercontinuum lasers manufactured by NKT Photonics.

A supercontinuum laser is a bright source which simultaneously puts out light at a broad spectral range above 400 nm to more than 2 µm. Due to its brightness and wide spectral range, it is ideal for use in steady-state measurement operations. Add to that, the duration of its laser pulses is in the 10s of picoseconds range.
