spiral jet mill / for powders / vertical / dry milling

Created in order to dry mill materials ranging from soft to medium-hard, the piconizer® is a spiral jet mill. It has both a design and an operating principle similar to the Alpine's Aeroplex spiral jet mill AS product line. Dry and reasonably soft materials that measure up to three on the Mohs hardness scale can be micronized by this machine to powders that measure between 5µm and 40µm.

A high-speed air vortex is produced by several of the gas nozzles. An injector assembly feeds objects into the disc-shaped grinding chamber. Particle collisions are facilitated using speed gradients in the airflow in order to produce comminution. A dip pipe is located in the grinding chamber's center so that the grinding gas can exit the machine. Fine particles can exit the mill through the drip pipe as well and are collected in a filter. A classifying effect is produced by the free vortex.
