Tensioners prolong the life of roller chains. Three variants of the tensioner are available: a rotary tensioner performs an automatic 90° tensioning action; a linear tensioner does linear adjustment automatically; and a fixed tensioner can be adjusted manually through UHMW polyethylene guides. The chain guides are made from self-lubricated polyethylene.
