No two applications are the same and one design does not fit all. Especially when today’s applications have specific performance requirements for high speed, high torque or a delicate balance of both. That’s why Portescap created the Ultra EC™ platform of Brushless DC mini motors. We developed three product lines within our Ultra EC platform to address our customer’s specific performance requirements.

All 3 Ultra EC product lines owe their performance to our innovative patented U coil design and technology. The Ultra U coil uses straight copper turns to maximize the effectiveness of the magnetic field, with coil heads perfectly integrated into the compact motor design. With minimal joule and iron losses, maximum power is available to achieve the specific performance characteristics customers are looking for in a specific frame size. With this unique coil design, two-pole motors can deliver 30% more torque compared to the same size motor using a conventional coil design, with substantially lower iron losses. And of course, minimal iron loses also means greater efficiency and cooler operation!

The Ultra ECS line offers ultra high speed and responsiveness in direct-drive applications. They dynamic motors can reach amazing mechanical powers such as delivering 180W continuously at 60,000 rpm in a 22mm diameter size. With advanced vibration-damping and built-in temperature monitoring, the ECS motors are designed for cool, virtually silent and vibration-free operation.
