The RS Series worm speed reducers are general purpose applications that come in nine sizes, in addition to fractional and medium power drives. Aluminum die-cast housings and covers are available up to size 85, with cast iron cases available from size 110 upwards. The single worm/wheel units have a ratio of up to i=100. These devices are fitted with a solid input shaft module and a BSM back-stop that is compatible with a range of VARVEL gearboxes featuring input version «S..» and flexible coupling «G».
Connecting to a VARVEL gearbox is a quick and easy process that requires just a screwdriver for completion. The input shaft of the RS Series is supported with two 2RS ball bearings that are sealed and grease-packed for lifelong lubrication, and a half coupling is provided with the device for the direct coupling to appropriate VARVEL gearboxes. The back-stop module is available in two versions, both with a solid shaft input with ball bearing, plus a backstop and either an IEC or NEWA flange.
