Function:
calculation
The spectrometer in this series measures radiated optical energy, which can be quantified as a radiant flux. The optical energy radiated can also be correlated with human vision, as defined in the CIE, obtaining a spectral luminous efficiency function that characterizes the vision of an average human observer. The Avantas irradiance calibrated spectrometer system can also be used for measuring both radiometric and photometric quantities.
The radiometric quantities offer radiant energy, while the related photometric quantities include luminous flux or illuminance. To measure spectral light sources, field calibration lamps like AvaLight-HAL-CAL or DH-CAL are used as a reference. In order to calculate parameters such as irradiance, flux or radiant power, the software makes use of the measured spectral distribution principle.
