Rail Mounted Units, top mount robots are designed to be rail mounted at 90°or reverse via the linear axis 1. Unit is able to service several machines. A single robot is able to service multiple vertical and / or horizontal machines which decreases the overall cost of investment. Machine may be located in the working envelope of the robot, but does not have to be placed directly inline as with normal gantry robots.

When compared to its linear counterpart it requires less floor space and ceiling height. This allows for complete access to work piece fixturing and machines. Able to mount dual robots because of increased flexibility in the cell design.
