The APS 3100 L single-column palletization system features a two-Cartesian-axes motion, complete with upward directional movements. The horizontal axis is fitted onto a horizontal beam with recirculating-sphere guides on which the grip-head holding arm completes its motions. The vertical axis features a hard-set vertical column that the horizontal column runs along, once again on recirculating spheres.

Pack layers are picked up the by grip-head from a conveyor belt that is kept at waist height. The grip-head then quickly and precisely moves the pack layers and deposits them onto the chosen area of the pallet. Both the grip-head holding arms horizontal motion and the beam’s vertical motion are driven through the use of brushless motors, which guarantees exact precision placement during the palletization process.
