The collection of materials is the key interface to separation technology. Every engineer knows: "Collection is a precondition for separation". The problems caused by ill-placed, improperly dimensioned collection equipment and the clogging of the collection aperture by chips are costly and dangerous: poor extraction, non-point emissions into the workshop, safety risks by accumulation of flammable compounds, higher CL consumption, higher maintenance and cleaning costs.
For all these requirements, collection solutions have been available for some time but now a decisive improvement has been implemented in the new HANDTE Chip Gate: Its efficiency is significantly higher thanks to pre-separation. This means that the introduction of chips and CL from the machine room is practically excluded. Furthermore, the design of the Chip Gate ensures collection over the whole gate width without the so-called dead zones. The even flow through the machine tool prevents malfunctions caused by the accumulation of flammable harmful substances. The reduced suction capacity ensures cost-efficient compliance with the specified MAK values ("Maximum Workplace Concentration"). Another safety aspect: Explosive flames are extinguished at the hood and not introduced into the pipe.
