Type 8105 is a robust spherical hydrophone which can be used down to 1000 m ocean depth combined with excellent directional characteristics. The compact, spherical transducer is used to carry out absolute sound measurements over 0.1Hz to 160 kHz frequency range with a receiving sensitivity of ?205 dB re 1V/?Pa. The rugged design is capable to withstand pressures of up to 107 Pa (100 atm.; 1000 m (3250 ft.) ocean depth). The hydrophone features excellent directional characteristics. At 100 kHz, the device is omnidirectional over 360° in the x-y (radial) plane and 270° in the x-z (axial) plane.
