The BIS or Bi-metallic switches are suitable for use in the electrical industry for automatic temperature control.
They are available as usually open, or usually closed units. The BIS limit the temperature of equipment or parts, and automatically reset after cooling.
They are provided in three versions: C0x, S0x and L0x. BIS are installed on or in the winding of electrical equipment, enabling the ideal resistance to pressure.
C01/02 and C06/08 series models are designed immune to current. They have a non-insulated metal casing, and can carry current. They are useful in locations that are adequately insulated, or where no housing insulation is needed.
S01/02 and S06/08 series models are immune to current, and are separated. The isolation is aimed by applying a Kynar shrinking tube, Mylar or Nomex cover.
