The ASR2000 from Aerotech is a direct-drive spindle specially designed to provide reliable angular positioning and velocity control for applications such as disk drive testing, precision wafer inspection, and imaging. Its compact design has a housing constructed out of aluminum, and a shaft made of steel. It has a rated speed of 6000 rpm per second, and a resolution of 256-2048 lines/revolution.
