The HOMMEL-ETAMIC IPS100 is a bore inspection sensor system. An image of the bores inside surface is generated after a 360° circular optic is advanced into it. Represented as rings, the circumferential lines in the bore are highlighted in the image.

A high resolution CMOS imager continuously scans the image. The generation of an undistorted image of the inner surface of the bore is achieved by the simultaneous forward advancing of the inspection sensor and circular scanning. The IPS-10 can be advanced rapidly due to the high scanning rate which enables short inspection cycle times.
