Suspended Permanent Magnetic Separators (Overband) is suitable for removal of ferrous contaminants from bulk product flows. Separators being positioned over conveyor belts or in a chute offer two permanents magnetic field configurations, CP, OP and TP with variable field strengths and depth of field. The magnet face needs cleaning by removal of accumulated ferrous metals which otherwise reduces efficiency. Magnet cleaning comes in two options; Manual Cleaning (MC) for low levels of ferrous contamination is done by cleaning the magnet face manually by wiping or with a stripper plate. The other option of Self Cleaning (SC) is done by a belt surrounding the magnet box which continuously moves so that it holds the contaminated ferrous material (attracted by the magnet) and as the belt moves clear of the magnetic field the attracted material falls into bins under gravity for collection and disposal.
