The unit has a lightweight design, and features a shell-style external ring that is made of a particular thin steel plate that is precisely drawn, carburized, and quenched, which results minimal sectional height. The shell-type needle roller bearings are available in two models which is the caged-type, and the full complement-type. The suitable variant can be chosen depending on the working conditions.

The caged-type bearing has a design where the needle roller is both guided by the cage and the thrust rings. It is ideal for use in operations subjected to high-speed turns. The full-complement-type needle roller bearing is ideal for use in heavy-load operations at low-speed turns.
