The FSW800 Series air-flow monitor offers a simple and reliable alternative to indicate negative or positive air flow of fans. A bi-directional switch will activate an electrical contact if the air flow of the fan falls below 8.2 ft/s, assuming it has been properly installed and connected in series with an optical or audible signaling device. This will either turn the device on or off.
The FSW800 Series air-flow monitor has a reed/magnet contact NC, an open contact with airflow NO, a contact closed with air flow, a switching threshold of air flow speed greater than 8.2 ft/s (2.5 m/s), a hysteresis of 3.3 ft/s, a wire contact resistance of 370 mΩ, a service life of over 100,000 cycles and a switching capacity of 10 W (resistive load).
