Application
The transmitter is installed on the outside of the standpipe of the visual level indicator opposite to the indication rail. In the event of changes in the level, the float magnet of the level indicator actuates the reed contacts in the transmitter, resulting in a change in its resistance value. These transmitters are available with a resolution of either 10 mm or 5 mm.
Analog or digital?
Signal outputs as a 3-wire version (current-fed or as a resistance chain) or a 2-wire version (as a current sink) can be used up to medium temperatures of +350 °C. The current feed results in defined voltage changes at the output which are directly transmitted to the indicator. If the measurement range is exceeded upwards (30 mm), this is indicated by means of a jump in the output signal of 115 % based on the NAMUR NE43 recommendation.
Special types are combined together with the HART® converter module, PA converter module or FF converter module as a resistance chain and offer all the advantages of digital communication such as scaling and parameterizing.
