The Edwards GV stainless steel bellow series of sealed gate valves is made for strong applications that work for leak tightness standards and release as little hydrocarbon into the residual atmosphere as possible. This is made for quality valves with high conductance and vacuum integrity standards.
The bellows are made with stainless steel valves that are made by vacuum-brazing process which means items are baked out at 1100 degrees Celsius. This ensures virtual leaks are highly unlikely and that the product has no outgassing issues. Also, laser-welded bellows are designed to keep the actuator sealed from the valve. This is to allow the gate and linkage mechanism to be removed for servicing without the need to disturb the valve as such.
