graphite
Graphite has unique chemical and physical features. Our impregnated graphite Graphec® is impervious and inert to a wide range of aggressive chemicals up to 220 °C.
Compared to metallic disks, graphite ones provide important advantages:
superior corrosion resistance,immune from phenomena, as pitting and tunnel etching, which locally damage metals, graphite offers no trigger points for improper breakages;
discharge section: when bursting pressure is reached, the graphite membrane breaks suddenly and makes immediately the whole section available to discharge. Higher section availability allows engineers to design smaller (and cheaper) safety disks and flanges;
thermal stability: graphite behaviour is not significantly affected by temperature.
Graphec® safety disks ensure safe and reliable behaviour, protecting your equipment from over pressures, pressure fluctuations or unpredicted vacuum conditions. Graphec Safety Disks product line includes 3 possible geometries, each of those is ideal for specific pressure and temperature conditions or media.
MB: graphite monolitic disks for standard application, provide reliability and ease
eMB: graphite monolitic disks for high temperature applications.
3B: disk made of 3 graphite components: a graphite reusable membrane and a holder in two parts.
