NDCs X-Ray transmission gauges provide absolute thickness measurement of a moving web. Three versions of this gauge are available as follows:

Model 312AN X-Ray Transmission Gauge for film, sheet, foil, textile and converted web applications
Model 312AW X-Ray Transmission Gauge for nonwoven applications
Model 312AXN X-Ray Transmission Gauge for tire applications
The X-Ray measurement energy level of NDCs Model 312 series of X-Ray Transmission gauges are specifically tuned to obtain maximum sensitivity and high-accuracy performance across a host of different applications. In addition, the power supply to the x-ray source is precisely controlled to maintain that accuracy and to also preserve measurement stability.

The high-resolution 312AN offers excellent, narrow streak resolution and is especially suited where Advanced Profile Control (APC) profile control is an important requirement. The ultra-low-noise 312AW has a wider x-ray aperture to allow a larger signal area to pass through the material, for applications such as nonwovens applications where the formation may be variable. In contrast, the ultra-high resolution 312AXN offers narrow streak resolution permitting high-resolution profile measurement that is a requirement of certain applications.
