videoXtens HP sets new standards in accuracy and reproducibility. When international standards require high precision, videoXtens HP is the perfect solution. Operator influence is virtually eliminated, ensuring consistent test results.
videoXtens HP is a non-contact, high-resolution extensometer developed for tests that require maximum precision. Since the system employs non-contact measurement, there is no influence on the material characteristic values.
It is primarily used for testing plastics to ISO 527-1 or ASTM D 638, including accurate measurement of tensile modulus values. This system is also ideal for testing composites, for example in tensile tests on filament strands and laminates made of fiber composites or in-plane shear tests (±45° method). Tests up to break without damage to the extensometer are possible, even with brittle-fracturing specimens.
videoXtens HP also meets accuracy requirements for tensile tests on metals to ISO 68921. The option for determining strain distribution and strain at break as per Annex H of ISO 6892-1 is particularly convenient. Biaxial measurement is also possible. i.e., simultaneous measurement of extension and change of width.
